Today marks the 12 Anniversary of the most horrific terrorist attack on American soil.
We remember September 11, 2001!
Loved ones of those murdered on 9/11 will gathered at ground zero to commemorate the attacks at the ceremony at memorial plaza in New York. Relatives will recite the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died when terrorists hijacked planes and crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pa. Tributes are also planned at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville and at the Pentagon, where our President Barack Obama is expected to attend.
This was such a devastating attack that most remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when that 2nd plane crashed into the World Trade Center and we realized that America was under attack. I personally remember feeling so helpless and yet trying to report the events on the radio while I fought back tears and taking breaks to make sure that my family was okay.
Today we pray for and honor all of the families who lost loved ones and the brave men and women who daily risk their lives for the freedom that we enjoy. Thank you military personnel, thank you firefighters, thank you police officers and everyone who places themselves in harms way for us.
