Eight time Grammy Award winner Marvin Sapp gives fans another side of him with his first Christmas CD. Music lovers have an opportunity to get in the holiday spirit with the release of his new album, Christmas Card.
The album features a guest appearance by Commissioned (Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Mitchell Jones, Karl Reid, Michael Williams and Marcus Cole) on “What Child Is This” and “Honor The King.” Sapp teams with popular R&B crooner Joe for the album’s first single, “Home for Christmas.” On Christmas Card, Sapp offers a solid blend of contemporary, classic holiday songs and gospel standards packaged perfectly to celebrate this very special season.

Erica Campbell receives Grammy nomination for BEST GOSPEL SONG, for current single "A Little More Jesus," it was announced last week.
Written by Erica, sister Tina Campbell and husband Warryn Campbell, "A Little More Jesus," topped the charts this summer and captured listeners with the high-energy old school vibe, coupled with Erica's distinct vocals. The upbeat and powerful single united us with both honesty and enthusiasm.
"I am beyond excited and so very grateful for the nomination," Campbell said. "God is so awesome!"
"A Little More Jesus," is the first single off of Erica's debut solo project, HELP, which will be released on My Block Inc./eOne on March 25, 2014. The follow up single and title track "Help," is a relevant and current sounding ballad that will be released to radio in early January. Two versions of the song will be serviced including one featuring Lecrae one of today's hottest rappers.
Erica wrapped production on the third season of "Mary Mary," her popular TV show that returns to WEtv in 2014. She is also slated to perform "A Little More Jesus," on the Stellar Awards in Nashville, TN that will air live on January 18, 2014 on UPLIFTING Entertainment (formerly Gospel Music Channel), as well as continue to run in national syndication January 25th - March 2, 2014.

Congratulations to Motown Gospel recording artist Tye Tribbett for winning Best Gospel/Inspirational Performance for "If He Did It Before...Same God" at the hippest trip in America. The Soul Train Music Awards brought out the stars in Las Vegas. Hosted by actor Anthony Anderson, the music intense show featured performances from Memphis own K-Michelle, Tamar Braxton, Jennifer Hudson and Keith Sweat who also received the Lifetime Achievement Award. R&B icon Dione Warwick received the Soul Train Legend Award.
TBN founder Paul Crouch has died at the age of 79 after chronic heart problems.
A November 30 statement posted on the evangelist's website states:
"Dr. Paul F. Crouch passed into the presence of the Lord on November 30, 2013. We are grateful for the life of this amazing servant of God. Please pray for the Crouch family during this time."
In October, Crouch was hospitalized in Dallas due to shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Over the past decade, Crouch has been treated for a chronic heart condition.
Crouch is survived by his wife, Jan, and sons Paul Crouch, Jr. and Matthew Crouch, who has since been named as the new president of TBN.
Comedians Sherri Shepherd and Rickey Smiley have been tapped to host the 2014 Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
This will be the first time that the “The View” co-host Shepherd and nationally syndicated radio host Smiley have hosted the annual gospel music celebration.
The Stellar committe is expected to release a star studded list of live performances and presenters for the 29th Annual Stellars which is returning once again to Nashville TN. The taping will be Saturday January 18, 2014.

Grammy Award winning choir director and church pastor Hezekiah Walker has collaborated with Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy and Whitney Houston; recorded more than a dozen chart-topping albums and become the face of the black Gospel choir over an almost three decades long career. In speaking of his 14th CD, “Azusa The Next Generation,”
Walker formed the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir with a dozen members circa 1985 and taught them the song. They recorded the “I’ll Make It” LP live and it rose to #12 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart when Sweet Rain Records released it in 1988.

Pastor Maceo Woods, Born on the far south side of Chicago in the community of Morgan park, Maceo L. Woods, showed promise as a servant of God early in life; being interested in and concerned about the welfare of others. From early youth to manhood, he labored in the field of church music, as soloist, choirmaster, and organist. By the year 1950 Maceo L. Woods was already universally acclaimed by many to be one of the world’s greatest gospel organists and choirmasters; appearing in such noted auditoriums as New York’s Madison Square Garden, and Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater. His soulful interpretation of ‘Amazing Grace’ has been immortalized.
Nashville, TN -- Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), a global leader in music rights management, is set to salute gospel leaders Daryl Coley and Richard Smallwood at its 15th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon in Nashville.
The event is slated for Friday, January 17, 2014, the day before the 29th Annual Stellar Awards, at Rocketown (601 Fourth Avenue South). Gospel music’s premier songwriters, brightest stars and leading industry executives will attend the invitation-only event, which is part industry celebration and part awe-inspiring worship service. BMI will also announce the Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year at the luncheon.
Daryl Coley’s voice is an inimitable instrument able to fuse musical genres into a unique, mellifluous and cohesive sound. His multi-decade career began as singer with Edwin Hawkins, which led to being a songwriter and musical director for Lady Tramaine Hawkins. Lead vocal appearances on recordings for James Cleveland’s Gospel Music Workshop of America resulted in Coley’s solo debut, Just Daryl. . Coley has recorded a landmark collection of more than 100 studio performances and worked with some of the industry’s legends, including Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson and Philip Bailey. Most recently, Coley received a Doctorate of Sacred Music from the Ray of Hope Theological Seminary and Bible College International School of Divinity.
Richard Smallwood is a legend in his own time. After more than three decades as one of the most popular inspirational artists in the music business, with classic tunes such as “Total Praise,” “Center of My Joy,” and “I Love the Lord” to his credit, the GRAMMY-nominated, Stellar and Dove award-winning songwriter and musician continues to enjoy widespread popularity and influence. His songs traverse genre boundaries and have been recorded by Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Destiny’s Child and many others. In 2006, Smallwood was inducted into the Gospel Music Associations’ Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He is currently exploring his gift as an author, as he works on completing his autobiography Total Praise, scheduled to be released in 2014.
