Mary Mary's Tina and Eric Campbell are gracing the cover of Ebony June 2013 Issue. Inside the magazine, Tina revealed shocking news about her marriage while sister Eric talks about her husband and his busy career.
"How I forgave my husband after his affair," appears below Tina's photo on the magazine's June cover, which features her standing alongside her sister Erica Campbell.
In one excerpt from the cover story, Tina -- who is married to The Tonight Show Band drummer Teddy Campbell -- tells Ebony, "Once I became aware [of the affair], I initially wanted to kill my husband... I was considering adjusting the will, the living trust and all that kind of stuff. I did physically try to stab him. Several times... I never got to the point of physical harm, not really, but my words... My words hurt."
The news may come as quite a shock to Mary Mary fans, who often raved over Teddy and Tina's relationship as it's portrayed on the WE tv reality series Mary Mary. The pair have been married since 2000.
Tina's sister Erica also discusses her husband in Ebony's June issue, which is dedicated to celebrating Black Music Month. In the magazine, Erica reveals that her husband, record producer Warryn Campbell, has been "called to minister." She says, "Now I said, 'Lord, when I first started dating this guy he worked for Death Row Records, but he was from the church. That was a perfect combination for me: a little street, a little church.'"
Mary Mary also opens up about their decision to take a break from recording together, and Erica talks about her solo music project. The June issue of Ebony arrives on newsstands this Tuesday.
Bishop T.D. Jakes, pastor of The Potter's House megachurch in
Jakes, 55, has been married to his wife Serita for over 30 years and shares five children with her. While Jakes helped a married couple on comedian and talk show host Harvey's show, he also answered a series of questions relating to holy matrimony.
"Young couples can get swept up in the euphoria of romantic love without ever realizing that love ebbs and flows through the seasons and stages of life," Jakes told
"Sometimes individuals place unreasonably high expectations on their partners. They want their mate to 'complete them,' to be their 'best friend,' 'their everything'- which is a heavy burden to place on a partnership," Jakes told
The pastor spoke about marriage requiring constant work, and used gardening as a metaphor to describe the process.
"Like a garden, marriage requires constant upkeep and maintenance," Jakes told
Jakes and his wife previously appeared on the February issue of Ebony magazine, where they shared what made their love work in particular.
The Sisterhood" docu-series that documented the lives of pastors wives on TLC earlier this year will not return to the network, and one of the show's ministers and his wife believe they know why.
The show premiered Jan. 1 and focused on five preachers' wives trying to balance life in
"There are so many factors that contributed to the cancellation of the show, but ultimately it was the cast members themselves that caused our core viewers, Christians, to be grieved by their conduct and turned-off and disinterested in the show," Dr. Lewis told thejasminebrand.com recently. "The premiere episode one was so way off base for those professing to be Christians and the sensationalized sexual content so blatant, the arguments so tense and the doctrinal differences so outlandish that it made people feel so uncomfortable that the show immediately lost 300,000 viewers and it undermined this phenomenal opportunity we had to witness His light in darkness."

The initial diagnosis came during Bishop Trotter’s annual physical in March of 2013 and was confirmed by tests. Doctors have informed Bishop Trotter that the cancer is in its earliest stages and that his prognosis is good.
"Thanks to routine screening this was diagnosed early and I expect a full and speedy recovery," says Bishop Trotter. Trotter adds, "After reviewing all the options with multiple physicians, I decided to take a proactive approach and have surgery.”
"Additionally, I am encouraged that God will heal me of this as he has done other illnesses in the past. Sweet Holy Spirit Church and friends are fighting with and for me...I KNOW A MAN".
Bishop Trotter is prepping to release his forthcoming album with his church choir Sweet Holy Spirit Combined Choir entitled PRAISE UNLIMITED on June 25. Let's keep Bishop Trotter in our prayers.
Christian evangelist and self-proclaimed prophetess Juanita Bynum says her arrest last week over a debt owed to a promoter was an "unfortunate event" stemming from fraud perpetrated by another party.
"Until recently, it was my understanding that a resolution had been reached involving a business dispute between Mr. Al Wash, of ALW Entertainment and myself," reads Bynum's statement on the April 18 arrest in Dallas, Texas. "I was wrongfully detained, by the Dallas Texas Sheriff's Dept. for failing to appear in court several months ago, for a civil court appearance, of which I knew nothing, involving the prior mentioned business dispute." The statement, published on Bynum's ministry website, was dated April 24.
Bynum confirms in her statement that she was released last Friday after a "brief court hearing" on the lawsuit originally brought by
"I have not been found guilty of any fraudulent, unethical or non-integral behavior," she adds in the statement, which also includes an apology attributed to
In the attached document, apparently an email statement sent at 7:18 p.m. from Wash of ALW Entertainment, the promoter states that there was a "misunderstanding of information" and that he never intended for the arrest to "do her or her ministry any harm."
"I am here to help people build their career not destroy their career and I will always believe in Dr. Bynum," reads the email attributed to Wash.
