Susan Boyle, the U.K. singer who in 2009 wowed judges on "Britain's Got Talent" and eventually the world with her powerful rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream," is set to put on her biggest U.S. performance yet with a show next month at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.
"Victoria and I, like all of America, fell in love with Susan Boyle the first time we saw her," Pastor Osteen said, according to Broadwayworld.com. "We are delighted and honored that she chose Lakewood Church for her first solo performance in this country."
Boyle, who will be singing tracks from her new holiday-themed album, Home for Christmas, said she was looking forward to performing at Lakewood Church.
"I am really looking forward to attending and performing at Lakewood. This will be the largest audience I have ever performed to in the USA and I am very excited," she said.
The “Preachers of L.A.” cast continue to speak out and floss their lavish lifestyles in front of a national audience with no apologies.
Even the likes of Bishop T.D. Jakes felt compelled to light up the cast of “Preachers of L.A.” during a recent Sunday morning sermon with a few choice words in which he proclaimed that he was “not bling-blinging” and that he’s far from being a “shake and bake” preacher.
During this past week’s episode of “Arsenio Hall Show,” the ministers remained unrepentant, saying they are not going to “play ping pong” with the opinions of others.
“Anytime you’re moving into space that is uncharted you’re gonna have haters. Jesus had haters,” said Bishop Clarence McClendon. “I teach our people that the kingdom of God is a kingdom of relational influence. And anybody you refuse to relate to, you’ve also refused to influence.”
“When you start influencing people you’re going to get their opinions. And so, opinions come, opinions go, but I believe that we’re moving into an area where others are going to follow.”
However what people may choose to follow after watching the Preachers of L.A., is what is concerning to many.
Nashville Life Christian Church (NLCC) is collecting toiletries, clothes, winter coats and blankets for Covering Nashville – an initiative to cover homeless families in Nashville this cold, holiday season. Pastors Alvin and CeCe Love started NLCC in March 2012 to empower passionate people to influence and impact nations for the cause of the Kingdom. Since its start, the church has grown to over 100 families, young adults and couples. Services are Sundays at 2:00 P.M. in Wallace Chapel on the campus of Christ Church-Brentwood.
“As the pastor of this church, we are blessed to be a blessing to those who are less fortunate. Jesus said in Matthew 25:40, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters; you were doing it to me.' We are hopeful that others will hear about our efforts and want to contribute to this worthy cause. -Alvin Love, II Senior Pastor of Nashville Life Christian Church
Just four months after secretly marrying San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, Kerry Washington has more big news: She’s pregnant. According E! News the Scandal star, 36, and her husband, 31, are expecting their first child.
“She had planned to wait longer because the pregnancy is being well hidden on Scandal with her trademark coats, but it will be pretty obvious on Saturday Night Live this Saturday,” a source explains. “So she decided to start telling people now.”
The Emmy-nominated actress opened up about her decision to keep her personal life private during the September issue of Glamour. “I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it,” she told the magazine. “But I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, ‘Okay, no more.’” Tune in to see Washington host Saturday Night Live this weekend on NBC.

Omarosa Manigault, the political consultant-turned-ordained minister, believes people should give the new Oxygen docu-series "Preachers of L.A.," a chance.
Manigault, 39, first became popular on the first season of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," where she embraced her role as a brash businesswoman in the boardroom. While a number of Christian leaders have spoken out against "Preachers of L.A.," Manigault said the show may be a good thing.
"I think people should give it a chance – they're trying to pull it before you see the whole story," Manigault told thejasminebrand.com recently. "The fact that people are talking about church – I'm talking about folks who ain't never come to church – my good friends who never been in my sanctuary are talking about pastors, and talking about religion. It's good."
The minister and reality television personality spoke about how the show is bringing attention to Christianity in an unconventional way.
"Any time that you can get people thinking about ministry, thinking about their relationship with God and thinking about salvation, it's good. Now whether it's controversy – that's for people to decide themselves," she told thejasminebrand.com. "It's entertainment but we are talking about religion, and that trust me – I've been in ministry for six years and it's very difficult to get people to do that."
Bishop Clarence McClendon of Full Harvest International Church is clearing up some misconceptions about him that were showcased on the Oxygen docu-series "Preachers of L.A."
McClendon and his co-star on the show, the minister and gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, engaged in a heated debate when the latter accused the Bishop of focusing more on traveling with an unnecessary entourage than preaching the gospel. Although the debate ended with McClendon leaving out of frustration about the heated exchange, he recently explained his point of view on the matter a bit more.
"Jesus didn't have a mega church, but he had 12 disciples. Some people would refer to that as entourage, but these were men who were trained to assist Jesus in his ministry assignment," McClendon told Hip Hollywood recently. "So the people that I have travel with me have a function in my ministry assignment. The thing that I cleared up and wanted cleared up was that the people I travel with, my ministry pays for those people, they are covered by Clarence McClendon Ministries."
On this week's episode, T.D. Jakes leads an opinionated panel of civic leaders in a fiery town hall discussion to tackle the hot button issue of "Violence in Our Communities." Pastor Corey Brooks, former gang member Arthur "Silky Slim" Reed, Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall, Former National Executive Director of the National Action Network Tamika D. Mallory, and Emory Professor Greg Ellison offer commentary on the importance of bringing awareness to this ever present issue.
